My Campus Life director wanted to have a conversation, so we found a quiet spot and began some dialogue.
He asked me what I believed when it came to faith. “I’m pretty much an atheist,” I responded. He then asked me what I believed in then, and I said, “I pretty much just believe in myself.” He patiently continued to listen as I explained some of my additional views. He then began sharing a few things from scripture, and I nodded but politely said, “I’ve actually never read the Bible.”
He shared what he called “truth,” and I replied, “Hmmm… I’ve never really heard any of that before.” I left significantly encouraged while returning to class that day.
